For the parents and also for the sister, life has changed radically with the disappearance of Annika. In moving conversations, the father recalls those terrible days when his daughter did not turn up and the difficult years that followed. To this day, the family has not been able to bury their daughter and sister, a deep pain for those left behind. In addition, the family was left completely to its own devices, because at that time there was no victim support or psychological care. But the missing young woman has never let go of investigators and journalists who reported on the case at the time, not least because many other children and young people disappeared in the 1980s. The film gives the police and the Blick reporter, who dealt intensively with the case at the time, a chance to speak. Switzerland's only special prosecutor, Pius Schmid, who was responsible for unsolved crimes in the canton of Zurich until the summer of 2006, also describes his suspicions.
