In this video I will show you how to diagnose the motor wheel of an electric scooter (check the motor wheel) quickly enough and with the help of improvised means. Without a multimeter and special devices! Without an oscilloscope! We will need: a motor wheel or BLDC engine (gearless!) three LEDs any battery or accumulator for 3.5 - 4.5 volts several wires To carry out diagnostics, the motor wheel does not need to be removed from the scooter, but it is imperative to disconnect all the wires (the Hall sensor connector plug and three thick phase wires). The pinout of the Hall sensor plug is usually like this: black - common minus red - common plus blue - signal green - signal yellow - signal It is necessary to understand that the signal from the Hall sensors is negative. That is, the indicator LED must be connected between the power plus (red wire + 4 volts) and the sensor output itself. All this can be done directly on the scooter in 1 minute. When rotating the wheel by hand, the LEDs should blink evenly, one after another. Constant glow of the LED, as well as the complete absence of flashes, clearly tells us about the malfunction of the Hall sensors, wires, or the displacement of the magnets on the rotor.
