Nightclub dancer Artur Potekhin was strangled and thrown out of a window of a multi-story building. Nineteen-year-old Viktor Rudin, who once served time for drug trafficking, is accused of murder. According to investigators, Artur came to Rudin for a fix. They had a fight, and Rudin strangled Artur with a handkerchief, and then threw him from the eighth floor. At first glance, this is convincing, especially since Rudin has no alibi and all the evidence is against him, except for one... Having examined the crime scene, the detective comes to the conclusion that the murder was carefully planned. The boss goes to the nightclub. Bartender Maxim is not surprised by Archie's murder. The dancer provided intimate services to the club's visitors, so the killer could well have been a jealous husband. The owner of the handkerchief turns out to be Robert Mashnoy, the husband of Margarita Mashnoy, who lives on the eighth floor of the ill-fated entrance. But who killed Potekhin? A cuckolded husband? A woman who did not share Archie with a rival? Or the club's second dancer, Johnny, who was jealous of Archie's success with the public? The truth will be even more unexpected and cynical.
