We'll see how it stacks up against rivals like the Peugeot 3008 and Nissan X-Trail. In terms of design, there have been some changes from the previous model. The car we're introducing this time is the R-Line model, which is sportier than the entry-level model. The front has a connected light bar on both sides, a motivated bumper, and realistic air vents. The sides have black window frames, contrasting door mirrors, black roof rails, and the rear also has a full-width light bar. And, thankfully, the fake exhaust is gone! There are also some improvements to the interior. The R-Line has built-in ambient lighting, and this car now comes standard with a clearer infotainment screen. However, there is a slight delay in operation. Air conditioning is also controlled through this screen. The digital gauge for the driver is also larger, and the gear selector has been moved to the steering column. There are multiple engine options. The entry-level model is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline turbo engine that produces 130 horsepower, while the other model is equipped with an engine with increased power to 150 horsepower. A 2.0L diesel turbo engine is also available, which also produces 150 horsepower. There are also two plug-in hybrids, both based on a 1.5L gasoline turbo engine and producing 204 horsepower and 272 horsepower. These hybrid models can run up to 123 km of EV driving with a 20 kWh battery. Prices for the Tiguan start at 6.35 million yen, and the top-of-the-line model is 8.95 million yen.
