UK Channel Posted on 04/02/2024 It's time to get your hands on the long-awaited new Toyota Land Cruiser! Matt tests the new 4x4 both on and off-road to see if it has what it takes to compete with rivals like the Suzuki Jimny and Mercedes G-Class! Let's take a closer look... First of all, the design. The Land Cruiser looks tough from the outside. In addition to the boxy design and huge rear bumper, the large windows on the sides and rear help let in lots of light. It has the roof bars and side steps that are essential for a full-fledged 4x4, and the grille design is reminiscent of the classic Land Cruiser design. Once inside, you'll immediately know you're in a Land Cruiser. The dashboard design reflects the ruggedness of the exterior, and there's even padding on the center console to protect your knees from injury while off-roading! There's some hard plastic trim here and there, but it's no big deal, because there are plenty of physical buttons! Most of the controls are controlled by buttons, not a navigation screen like in older cars. The in-car system itself is decent, but there will also be a digital meter in front of the driver's seat. The Land Cruiser has only one engine. Its 2.8L 4-cylinder diesel turbo engine produces 204hp and 500Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The price of the Land Cruiser in the UK is still unknown, but it is expected to be over 10 million yen. Is it really worth it? Watch Matt's review to the end and judge for yourself!
