In this video, I present important tips on the care we should take with our Desert Roses after pruning. To have a good recovery and abundant growth of shoots, it is necessary to pay attention to fertilization, whether with organic fertilizers, chemical fertilizers, or both simultaneously. Furthermore, during the dry period it is necessary to water frequently so that there is no lack of water for the new shoots. Another point that deserves extra attention is the caudex's exposure to strong sun and intense heat, since with pruning the RD lost its canopy of branches that shaded its body and roots. Morning sun is beneficial to plants and generally does not cause sunburn. The strong afternoon sun has higher radiation and can easily burn the caudex and roots that have been raised. When in doubt, to protect the plant, it is recommended to make a cover, a skirt with a sheet of paper and wrap the caudex, this way the sun will not damage it until a new crown of branches is well formed. Still, many are concerned about the delay in releasing shoots that some desert roses have. It is worth remembering that not all RDs react in the same way.
