Derek Prince (1915 - 2003) Derek Prince was born in India, the son of British parents. A professor of Greek and Latin at Eton College and the University of Cambridge, England, he taught ancient and modern philosophy at King's College. He also devoted himself to the study of several modern languages, including Hebrew and Aramaic at the Universities of Cambridge and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. While serving in the British Army during World War II, he began studying the Bible and had a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. As a result of this encounter, he came to two conclusions: Jesus Christ is alive; the Bible is a book of truth, and therefore relevant and timely. These conclusions changed the course of his life, which he devoted to studying and teaching the Bible. Derek’s unique gift for explaining the Bible and his clear and simple teaching style have helped build a foundation of faith in millions of lives. His non-sectarian and non-denominational approach has made his teaching both relevant and helpful to people of all racial and religious backgrounds. He is the author of over fifty books, five hundred audiotapes, and one hundred and sixty teaching videos, many of which have been translated and published in over sixty languages. His daily radio program, The Legacy of Derek Prince, is broadcast in Arabic, Chinese (Amoy, Cantonese, Mandarin, Shanghainese, and Swatow dialects), Croatian, German, Malaysian, Mongolian, Russian, Samoan, Spanish, Tongan, and more.
