Our knowledge of depression has definitely increased in recent years. We notice its symptoms more quickly and we confuse it less often with the common blues or depression. We are increasingly better at not only treating this disease, but also preventing it. However, the human psyche is extremely complex, which is why scientists do not stop at current discoveries. What does modern science say about depression? What is its most up-to-date definition? What tools are used in research on it? Which known methods of treatment are the most effective and which are still in the testing phase? Do any of the therapies used to date contradict modern knowledge?
