A Soviet "dembel" began preparing his demobilization uniform long before being sent home from his unit. After the "hundred-day period" (100 days before the order of the USSR Minister of Defense on the demobilization of a certain conscription), the "grandfather" turned into a homeless conscript who formally still belonged to the armed forces and the Navy of the Soviet Union, but de facto was already a "civilian".
