How to make 40 and 60 mm deep plates from thin 20 mm disks on a lathe. Ivan Baev once sent me gifts, including three thin disks about 20 mm thick and about 200 mm in diameter, glued from pieces of different types of wood. I never tire of saying thank you to Ivan Nikolaevich! And I decided to turn the flat blanks into quite convenient deep plates. I "dismembered" the blanks with a Stubai 15x3 mm cut-off cutter. Glued with Titebond III Ultimate glue. Sharpened with reamers, and at the end went a little with a Stubai 25 mm scraper. Sanded from 80 to 320 grit. Covered with linseed oil as the first layer. Then a little mixture of oil and carnauba wax.
