Alexey Isayev and Kristina Egorova analyze the film by Alexander Kott "Brest Fortress" (2010) from a historical point of view. The film tells about the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress, which took the first blow of the German invaders on June 22, 1941. The events that took place in the first days of the defense are described with documentary accuracy. The film tells about the three main centers of resistance, led by the regiment commander Pyotr Mikhailovich Gavrilov (Alexander Korshunov), the regimental commissar Efim Moiseevich Fomin (Pavel Derevyanko) and the head of the 9th border outpost Andrey Mitrofanovich Kizhevatov (Andrey Merzlikin). The line connecting all the characters is the story of Sashka Akimov (Alyosha Kopashov). It is through his eyes that we see the events of the film. The prototype of Sashka was fifteen-year-old Petya Klypa, one of the few surviving defenders of the Brest Fortress. The main idea of the painting is best formulated in the inscription found on the wall of one of the casemates: “I’M DYING, BUT NOT SURRENDERING.” Film page on Kino-Teatr.ru: https://www.kino-teatr.ru/kino/movie/...
