The books Death in the Deep and Bloody March, which I wrote in 2017 and 2018, tell about the Kalpa Division's attack to the east in the summer of 1941. The attack began on July 10, 1941, and during the fall the division advanced through old Finnish villages to Aunus. The attack ended in October behind Syväri in the area of the villages of Osta and Gora. In this video, I tell about the war path of the Infantry Regiment, which was assembled from the reservists of North Karelia and North Savo, during the years 1941–1942. I have converted the photos from the military archives and the National Museum Agency in the video into color images using image processing programs. #Syväri #Aunus #Kalpadivisiona #Infantry regiment #Tohmajärvi #Pälkjärvi #Ruskeala #Sortavala #Harlu #Uomaa #Kolatselkä #Vieljärvi #Pannila #Kotkatjärvi #Vaaseni #Latva #Vosnesenja #Barani #Gora
