In the night of February 5th to 6th 2000, nine people were killed and 149 people were injured, some seriously, when the night train Amsterdam - Basel hit a switch at far too high a speed. The D203 derailed at 122 km/h in Brühl station and raced through the gardens into a single-family home. The train driver had little experience and had only been allowed to drive express trains for two months. He was also confused by contradictory instructions and signs at a construction site. © WDR Survivors report on their rescue and how they had to learn to drive trains again over the years. The film documents the course of the Brühl railway disaster from the perspective of the victims, the residents and the helpers. The comments reflect the opinion of the respective YouTube member.
