After two US spy satellites were destroyed over Chinese space, the global political situation continues to escalate. In order to protect its own essential interests in near space, the German government launches an exemplary (secret) space program. A new generation of interceptors is to be developed that will enable European allies to be present in space at all times and thus within range of their own communications satellites. When news of the first manned test flight of this new system gets around, the government has no choice but to inform the world press. But an incident occurs during the first manned test flight: the test aircraft, the "DRAAKEN", disappears from the air surveillance radar screens. Seconds later, the radar screens show a huge object in space over Europe...
