The small farm "Wildfarm Labanoras" is located in the Labanoras regional park in the Švenčioni district, in the village of Vilkaslastis. His owner, Darius Kavšinas, graduated in biology and political science, but ten years ago he returned to his hometown and is a farmer on his grandparents' land - he extensively breeds Angus cattle, keeps sheep, geese, chickens, and has bees. In the forested area, Mr. Kavšinas is the only remaining farmer who maintains open habitats and restores new abandoned areas. "There must be a mosaic in nature. If there is only forest, biodiversity immediately decreases. I am a forest ranger," says Darius with a smile. The farm was chosen as one of the five ambassadors of the 2024 "Good Farmer" championship for its nature-friendly farming methods.
