The Dance of Saint Gonçalo, also called Baile de São Gonçalo or Roda de São Gonçalo, is a tradition of Brazilian folklore, which consists of a party with music and dance in pairs in honor of Saint Gonçalo de Amarante, to fulfill promises and give thanks for graces received. It is a dance of Latin American origin, and can be found in several states of Brazil, with unique characteristics in each region, such as the Southeast and Northeast regions.
