Two key railway networks, with a total investment of over 500 billion won, are opening one after another in the Gyeongbuk area centered around Daegu. First, the Daegu Metropolitan Railway Daegyeong Line, with an investment of 209.2 billion won, will open on December 14. The 'Daegyeong' Line is named after the first letters of the administrative districts of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, and connects Daegu and Gyeongbuk from east to west. This is not the only railway network in Daegu opening in December. The Hayang Extension of Subway Line 1, with a total project cost of 372.8 billion won, will open on December 21. The extension section of Daegu Subway Line 1 extends 8.89 km from the existing Daegu Ansim Station to Gyeongsan Hayang.
