The son of a diplomat, he lived in several countries during his childhood. Born in Brussels, he took his first steps in the former Yugoslavia. In Montevideo, he learned to ride a bike. Here in Brazil, he played soccer. In Paris, when he was 11 years old, he discovered that he was a type I diabetic. The doctor prescribed that he play sports for the rest of his life. Representing his school, he played rugby for two years and, wearing the number 9 jersey, he became the champion of the Paris tournament. While there, he bought his first racing bike. Back in Brazil, he continued to play sports, playing soccer and cycling around Lake Paranoá, in Brasília. He had been exposed to classical music since he was very young, listening to his father play the piano. He learned the recorder and transverse flute. Later, he moved on to the acoustic guitar and finally the electric guitar. Influenced by his friends and the music scene in Brasília, he created his first band, which lasted only one show. In early 1983, he was invited to join Legião Urbana. With us here is the guitarist, singer, producer, horse rider, runner, avid cyclist for 25 years, a sports addict, Eduardo Dutra Villa-Lobos, better known as Dado.
