This is the first part of our trip to southern Kazakhstan. During the May holidays, we visited the most picturesque places in Kazakhstan, and along the entire route we were accompanied by majestic views of nature and the ancient culture of this country. The cycling part of the route began from the village of Sary-Ozek, and then our path ran through the Altyn-Emel Nature Park. In the park, we visited the singing dune and the 700-year-old willow under which Genghis Khan rested. Driving along the Ili River, we had a surreal view of the majestic Aktau Mountains. Then we looked into the ash grove on the Charyn River - this is a forest of Sogdian ash surrounded by barren steppes, they say these trees are already 10 million years old. Charyn Canyon is an analogue of the Grand Canyon, you can get to the second one along the high-mountain Assy plateau with an astronomical observatory. And then we descended along the picturesque Turgen Gorge and finished our route in the beautiful city of Alma-Ata.
