On the occasion of the opening in December 2024 of the exemplary Argentinierstrasse cycle path in Vienna, we offer insights into the planning process and the criteria that accompanied the conversion of the once too narrow cycle path into a green cycle path, and what role Dutch guidelines played in this. 70 new trees, 100 new green beds, 1,300 m² of unsealing are intended to ensure climate resilience in this project. What exactly are the characteristics and advantages of this solution? What decisions had to be made to bring a piece of the Netherlands to Vienna? Two cycling competence members will present on this: The traffic planning office Rosinak & Partner was commissioned by the City of Vienna to plan the detailed road. Werner Rosinak, a partner of Rosinak & Partner and civil engineer for construction since 1976, provides insights into the planning. Julius Holländer is responsible for cycling infrastructure in the Vienna Mobility Agency team and explains the background.
