Cybergrooming involves people using the internet to specifically contact children and young people in order to sexually harass them, exchange pictures or persuade them to meet up. Jasmin is contacted by older men who make her feel heard and seen. Something she doesn't know from home. She is persuaded to meet up privately and experiences sexual violence during these meetings. The abuse has psychological and physical consequences for Jasmin, which continue to significantly limit her everyday life to this day. In 2023, 2580 cases were recorded in the nationwide police crime statistics in which perpetrators used the internet to influence children or young people in order to prepare for sexual abuse. The number of unreported cases of such crimes is much higher. Jasmin has now been in therapy for 15 years. She has set herself the goal of protecting children and young people from similar experiences, for example by giving workshops at schools.
