It is commonly said that you should quit when things are at their best. Michael Kurth, better known as Curse, knows that this is not a recipe for successful quitting. In 2010, when he was considered one of the most influential German rappers, he realized that although he was living the dream he had had as a 10-year-old, he was still not happy. He began psychotherapy twice, ended a long-term relationship, terminated contracts and moved out of his large apartment. When none of this helped, he set out to find the "good life". He, who previously identified himself as a devout Christian, ended up in an ashram in India and found a peace in meditation that he had never known before. Today, Michael Kurth is a Buddhist, systemic coach, yoga teacher and two-time bestselling author. He also runs a popular podcast on the subject of mindfulness, where he shares the methods that helped him out of his disorientation at the time - and that led to him finding his way back into the music business. In a conversation with Olivia Röllin, he talks about how to stop properly and start again, how Buddhism helps with this and what music sounds like that comes from a meditatively trained mind.
