The CUPRA Formentor TSI has a 150 hp (110 kW) 1.5 TSI petrol engine linked to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, all on the front axle and connected to the XDS electronic limited-slip differential. An efficient and simple unit capable of reacting immediately to any need. The 150 hp CUPRA Formentor TSI combines performance and low consumption. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 205 km/h. In this version, CO2 emissions are 145 g/km, while average consumption is between 5.6 and 8 l/100 km, in the combined cycle and according to official WLTP homologation. As with the propulsion system, the well-tuned chassis of the CUPRA Formentor makes possible a dynamic and different driving experience than usual among models in its segment. The suspension and steering offer an agile, precise and communicative feel. The chassis has been fine-tuned, especially the change in weight distribution, which offers an equal distribution of 55% - 45% between the front and rear axles respectively. In the safety section, the travel assistant, the side or blind spot assistant (which detects vehicles up to 70 metres away), the lane departure assistant, the emergency assistant, the adaptive and predictive cruise assistant (ACC), and the reverse cross traffic alert system, or the door opening warning system for passengers, if it detects the presence of a vehicle, stand out. In addition, the CUPRA Formentor incorporates the Front Assist system for automatic emergency braking in the city with pedestrian and cyclist detection, which now includes the automatic turning assistant and the automatic evasion assistant, which work as follows: after detecting an intention to evade by the driver, the system carries out a specific intervention on the steering and brakes to help resolve the evasive manoeuvre in an optimal manner. It also includes a system that emits an acoustic signal to the exterior and is activated when driving in electric mode at low speed, to warn pedestrians of its presence. In all, the CUPRA Formentor has received 5 stars in the demanding and renewed Euro NCAP crash tests, where it has achieved a high score in all sections of the test.
