The ship left Hoorn early. Beautiful skies and a fitting, short song by List. At Enkhuizen we went through the locks in the only NAVIDUCT in the world. That was a special experience. After a windy crossing over the IJsselmeer we arrived at the STEVINSLUIZEN and then continued our journey via the Wadden Sea to Oudeschild, a very nice town on the island of Texel. On the IJsselmeer I tried to imagine how skippers, hundreds of years ago, after months or years, after long journeys, arrived back at the Zuiderzee, looking at the coast, trying to recognize towns, churches, mills. Longing for home.
