Dr. Raúl Eugenio Zaffaroni will give a talk on Crime Prevention, aimed especially at students of the Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and Forensic Sciences at the Universidad Nacional de Río Negro (UNRN) Alto Valle - Valle Medio Campus, but open to the general public. It will be given virtually (the access link will be provided soon). The talk will focus on what is classified as a crime and who classifies it. Then, the focus will be on how to avoid what is always labeled and can be avoided and how criminologists can generate tools to generate alternative responses to the current context in which we find ourselves as a society. The objectives of the activity are to obtain an overview of prevention from a Criminological perspective; provide tools to future graduates; provide visibility to the Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and Forensic Sciences and encourage student participation. The talk will take place on Tuesday, November 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. through the UNRN bimodal campus. Registration is not required. The activity is endorsed by the Directorate of the program and organized by the Department of Continuing Education of the Undersecretary of Extension of the Alto Valle - Valle Medio Campus of the UNRN. Zaffaroni holds a PhD in Legal and Social Sciences, graduated from the National University of Litoral, Santa Fe; a Lawyer, graduated from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires; a Notary, graduated from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the National University of Buenos Aires. He also has postgraduate courses in Criminology, Criminal Sciences and Clinical Psychiatry.
