In this video we tackle the second stage of our trek, from Paleochora to Sougia. The trail winds along the coast and then climbs up to a pass and descends to the archaeological site of Lissos where we stop to admire the remains of an amphitheater, a temple of which a beautiful mosaic is preserved, and a church. We climb again and, after crossing a plateau of red earth, we descend into a suggestive gorge that emerges right into the sea: we have arrived in Sougia, the end of the stage. After a well-deserved swim, the minibus comes to pick us up to take us to Omalos, an inland location surrounded by mountains.
