In 2021, a team from BR television visited me in my garden. For the program Querbeet, I created a swamp bed or a mini pond. In this video, you'll learn how to do it. Water brings life to every garden. When a pond is provided with substrate, it is most valuable. Especially if the pond is not deep! A swamp bed becomes a small pond when there is a lot of rain. If there is no rain for a long time, the water can even disappear completely, leaving a damp spot. Plants and animals from seasonally humid habitats live here. If you want to support these special and rare animals and plants in the garden, this can be ideally achieved with a swamp bed / mini pond. In this video, I show you how to create a swamp bed so that you can recreate it yourself! If you don't have very sandy soil like me, or if water can flow to the swamp bed via a gutter, you can even save yourself the complex capillary barrier! I hope you have fun recreating it!
