With a long career at the intersection of territory, research, and the body, she has been a pioneer in raising the need to address in depth the expressive components that the bodily violence of patriarchal society exchanges as a 'code' or 'message': the 'writing on the body' that leaves a social scar as a sign of domination. Segato has been developing the concept of 'Pedagogies of Cruelty' in recent times to talk about the violence that occurs on women's bodies in our Latin American territories, to incorporate the expressive component that frames such violence in social, symbolic and cultural frameworks that grant it 'legitimacy' and, therefore, an alarming institutional impunity. Her theoretical contributions have been a decisive reflective source for making visible the logic of male domination, as well as an incisive beacon for establishing new strategies and sensitive discourses. Recognized throughout Latin America as an unavoidable reference in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Europe, she comes to Rosario to give a three-day seminar at the Facultad Libre, with free admission, in what we believe will be a commitment to continue weaving our conspiracy. www.facultadlibre.org
