In this class we will see what is the correct and most comfortable position to play the electric guitar, for ease we are going to divide this into three aspects, the correct position in front of the body, the position of the right hand and the position of the left hand. The first aspect to analyze is the correct position of the guitar in front of the body, to avoid back pain and vices that damage our interpretation, it is best to place the guitar on the left leg, this allows us to keep the back straight, this will also help us avoid pain and prolong practice times. The key to the correct position of the right hand is in the support that is given to it, the hand has two possibilities, one is raised, common when strumming or making rhythm patterns, another supported, common when making melodic figures on the electric guitar. When making melodies it is necessary that the hand is supported on the lower bridge, the metacarpal area is used for support and in this way allows the hand to obtain references and gain precision. The key to having a correct position in the left hand is the way the thumb is supported, if it is kept straight precision is gained and the four fingers of the hand can be easily used, on the contrary, if it is placed incorrectly it will be much more difficult to play the instrument.
