How about making compost, that is, natural fertilizer, to re-integrate the food, branches, and tree pieces that go to waste into the soil? Compost is the name given to the natural fertilizer obtained by rotting and grinding some edible waste, tree, branch, and leaf pieces. Rotting usually has a negative meaning, but when it comes to compost, rotting means reviving. With this fertilizer, the soil you use when growing vegetables, fruits, or flowers is enriched, and the soil becomes easier to aerate and process. Making compost may sound complicated. However, it is a very easy process as long as you pay attention to a few tricks. All you need to do is actually a little gardening. Over time, compost can become an indispensable part of daily life like a trash can, and a way of life where you constantly evaluate the waste from the kitchen. When making compost, two types of materials are used, one green and the other brown. Green materials that provide nitrogen are vegetable and fruit waste, fresh grass, green leaves, tea waste, egg shells; brown materials can consist of branches and tree barks, nut shells, sawdust, dry leaves, pine needles, straw and stems. A half-and-half ratio is generally preferred in compost. In addition, it is necessary to use freshly cut grass and water to accelerate decomposition. What should be considered? There are materials that should not enter the compost. These are leftover oily foods, grass that has gone to seed, tea and coffee bags and of course plastics and processed paper, cleaning materials that we do not want to see in the soil. Especially in cold compost, animal products such as meat, fish, milk and citrus fruits should not enter. The moisture content in the compost should be like a damp sponge. If you add too much water, microorganisms suffocate and die. Compost does not form from the materials, they only rot. You can measure the temperature with a thermometer or reach out and check the middle with your hand. The compost you touch should be warm. Your compost is ready when it stops giving off heat and becomes insect-free, fragrant and has a nice chocolate cake-like texture. You can add it to the soil of your flowers and the fruits and vegetables in your garden. You can subscribe to my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbJE...
