Permaculture gardening pioneer Monika Podsiadła presents part of her gardens, where she experiments with new organic soil mulching material in search of the perfect one. She provides practical gardening information, tips from her own experience and knowledge about soil health, composting, vermicomposting, mulching beds with various organic materials (straw, wood chips, brown coal), as well as how to grow your own food from seed and maintain biodiversity by growing and collecting hundreds of old, good varieties of edible and medicinal plants in her own seed bank. In 2017, Monika bought a 10-hectare plot in Podlodówek, where she is building another permaculture paradise and continues to spread practical permaculture knowledge as the Educational Center Permaculture Gardens. Surrounded by forest, the Center is regularly visited by many people from all over the world, who come to learn from Monika and experience this unique place. Monika is an expert in growing edible and medicinal plants. She runs a seed bank containing hundreds of old varieties of vegetables and herbs. Deeply concerned about the constant decline in biodiversity, she encourages the preservation of seeds of old varieties of edible plants. In addition to cultivating her own garden, she regularly conducts workshops and lectures, designs and provides consultations on gardens and habitats throughout Poland.
