It's the story of a man, Jean-Claude Romand, who made his life a mind-blowing web of lies and who decides to end it in the worst way. According to him, the only solution to avoid facing the truth in the eyes of his loved ones: he is not this great doctor with significant financial resources. He will leave the survivors with the pain of mourning and sometimes even the shame of having believed this impostor. It is Sunday, January 10, 1993 and a house is burning in a village near the Swiss border... Every Saturday at 2 p.m. on France 2, this magazine focuses on "cold cases". Closed cases, deemed insoluble, which sometimes resisted the tenacity of investigators for nearly 50 years before a clue, an unexpected testimony or an innovative scientific expertise allowed the culprits to be caught. Alongside Marie Drucker, criminologist Alain Bauer brings technical, psychological, sociological or historical insight to each case to understand the procedures implemented during the investigation, but also its issues and repercussions.
