The series of funeral ceremonies for President Sukarno, one of the proclaimers of independence and the first president of Indonesia, from the day he died on June 21, 1970 until his body was taken from Wisma Yaso to Lanud. Halim Perdanakusuma to be flown to Malang, East Java, on June 22, 1970. Furthermore, the body of the late Bung Karno was taken to the city of Blitar via land and then buried in military service at the Blitar Heroes Cemetery, next to the graves of his parents. Hundreds of thousands, even millions of people attended the funeral home and the cemetery area. The government at that time decided to bury Bung Karno in Blitar, regardless of his previous wishes to be buried somewhere in West Java. And only eight years later, on June 21, 1978, the government restored and magnified President Sukarno's tomb, by adding a roof-like building, which was inaugurated by President Suharto one year later. Until now, the tomb complex of President Sukarno is always crowded with pilgrims from various regions in Indonesia.
