Miloš Jakeš, the former general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic and a communist politician, has died. He was 97 years old. Two independent sources confirmed the information to CNN Prima NEWS. Jakeš became famous above all for his legendary speech at Červený Hrádek, where he assessed the situation in Czechoslovakia. Since last November, the police have been prosecuting him together with Lubomír Štrougal for shooting at the Czechoslovak border.
