An expensive colored pencil does not necessarily mean a great coloring result. And even with cheaper colored pencils, such as the Ergosoft from Staedtler, which Johanna Basford also recommends (... maybe because of the lucrative advertising deal...), you can paint very beautiful pictures. For a direct comparison of the painting properties, I put the Ergosoft, the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor and the Polychromos from Faber Castell on paper side by side and painted a monochrome color gradient on one sheet of paper. For all three colored pencils, I also use the paper wiper and the white colored pencil and I show you how different blenders can be combined with them.
