Keider, Jordan, Miguel and Ander, four Venezuelan teenagers, decided to reach Bogota on foot by illegally crossing the border with Colombia using smuggling routes called "Trochas". Systematically extorted by gangs during ten days of walking, they ended up finding refuge in the shelter of Marta Duque, who welcomes migrants passing through in her house. 12,000 unaccompanied minors are said to have crossed this border alone, considered one of the most dangerous in the world. When they do not disappear, they are forcibly recruited by paramilitary groups or local mafias. They become child soldiers, slaves in coca fields or prey to prostitution networks. Local authorities and NGOs try to act, but seem powerless.
