The Cologne Stadtbahn is the backbone of public transport in Cologne. The network has a length of 194 km (including the Cologne-Bonn interurban routes). 27 km of this is underground and 5 km is elevated. It is operated by the Cologne Transport Company AG (KVB). The network is divided into a low-floor network (lines 1, 7, 9, 12, 15) on which the K4000 and K4500 types are used. The B100S, B80D and K5000 types are used in the high-floor network (lines 3, 4, 5, 13, 16, 18). It is linked to the Bonn Stadtbahn via the HGK railway lines. Bonn Stadtbahn trains also come to Cologne via the city-connecting lines 16 and 18.
