March 26, 1998: At around 5 p.m., children playing in the Liederbach Tunnel at Höchst station found a mutilated corpse. It was Tristan Brübach from Unterliederbach. According to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), the boy was beaten and strangled until he lost consciousness. Tristan's death ultimately resulted from a cut through the throat. The murderer also cut flesh from the boy's body. The severed body parts were never found. The investigations expanded to cover the whole of Europe - years of complex, worldwide investigations.
