In 2020, the central statue of the National Treasure "Wooden Seated Amida Nyorai Statue" (Nine Amida Buddhas) at Joruriji Temple in Kyoto will undergo repairs. The camera follows the statue, which is over two metres tall, as it is moved by truck from the main hall (a national treasure) down the approach to the temple to the repair facility inside the Nara National Museum. See the passion of those involved in protecting cultural assets, including the thoughts of head priest Saeki Nobukatsu as he sees the Buddha off, and the skills and spirit of the Bijutsuin Academy technicians in charge of the repairs. This repair is a repair subsidy project of the Tsumugu Project.
