Welcome to the Academy! There are many interesting topics that could be discussed in this regard, today we will talk about the coloring of clone armor and the rank system. After all, the backbone of the great Army of the Republic was the Clone Troopers, among whom there was a kind of rank system. Each soldier could occupy certain rungs of this ladder of rank, and indeed, at the outbreak of the Clone Wars, the different ranks could even be clearly distinguished by colors. I say that at the beginning, because over time this marking became null and void, when soldiers who had reached different ranks within the army were given the opportunity to customize their armor according to their taste and personality. So in reality, these color markings became more or less neutral over time, as personality gained more and more space in the army. But let's see, then, how this rank marking was implemented at the beginning of the war, back in the Phase I armor sets, in the canon. The Pure White Armor – It covered a simple private, which was the lowest rank in the army. So this was the basic rank that a soldier could achieve. The olive-green or yellowish-green painted armor – The armor set was on a white background, but the aforementioned color was painted on it, 4 dots were marked on the breastplate, and a stripe was marked on the outer side of the arms and the helmet. The sergeant rank was marked with this color. These sergeants could also be responsible for controlling squads of up to 9 privates. The armor sets painted in blue – The lieutenant rank, as in the previous one, had the armor painted with the aforementioned patterns. So the blue color marked those lieutenants who were already more qualified officers. They could command up to 4 squads, including the platoon of 36 clones and the sergeants leading lower-ranking soldiers. And yes, I know that Rex was a captain, but as I said, over time these markings have become obsolete, so it is possible that Rex was only a Lieutenant at first, or that it was only because of the 501st that his armor became blue in the end. Let's move on to the armor painted in red - This is how they marked the captains on the battlefield. Each such captain was responsible for controlling companies. A company of clones was the opportunity for one such clone to control 144 soldiers. That was exactly 4 platoons, or 16 squads. The sergeants and lieutenants who controlled these were controlled by a captain. The armor painted in yellow - this color was used to mark clone commanders and perhaps this is the one that remained almost throughout the war, although the pattern changed over time. And not all commanders used the color, but those who did were almost certainly commanders. Most of these clones were raised to be more independent and according to legend, most of them were later trained by Alpha-17, who was an Alpha-class ARC clone. The commanders could be responsible for controlling a regiment of up to 2304 people. And their superiors could only be Jedi generals. Have fun. I look forward to your opinions, observations and any other communication in the comments :) I am also happy to continue any conversation related to the world of Star Wars. Thank you for your attention! May the force be with you. #StarWarsAcademy #StarWars #Follow #Like #clone #rank
