But that is different from those old-fashioned mattresses that were rock hard. It is important with these new mattresses that you protect them well. We perspire quite a lot every night and moisture is more difficult to remove from these new mattresses. I also vacuum my mattress regularly. To remove moisture and any unpleasant odors from my mattress, I use crystal soda. You know, those granules. They not only absorb moisture but also those unpleasant odors.
