Varre-Sai is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro, located in the Itaperuna Microregion and the Northwest Fluminense Mesoregion. It is the municipality in Rio de Janeiro furthest from the capital, Rio de Janeiro. The fourth highest municipal seat in the state, Varre-Sai, due to its cold climate and high altitude, stands out as the largest producer of coffee in the state, and is even recognized by ALERJ as the State Capital of Coffee. It also stands out for being the largest colony of descendants of Italians in the state (they make up more than seventy percent of the municipality's population).
