The city of Estreito, in Maranhão, where the bridge that connected Aguiarnópolis, in Tocantins, collapsed, has declared a state of emergency. Mayor Léo Cunha claimed environmental impacts due to the risk of exposure to sulfuric acid carried by two trucks that overturned along with the structure in the Tocantins River. So far, the accident has resulted in nine deaths. The search for the eight missing people continues.
