The comedy with a criminal plot takes place in the run-up to Christmas, when housewives usually prepare Christmas dinner, carp with salad. The central characters of the story are members of a seemingly normal family. It includes father Karel, a designer with a passion for filming, mother Růženka, who wanted to be an actress, son Jirko and teenage daughter Věra, who likes to take photographs. And you can't miss the chatty grandfather who lives with the family. It is on Christmas Day that the whole family is preparing to shoot their amateur film. Unfortunately, the intricately planned event, in which they want to capture the carp picking up the post office and releasing it into the river, is foiled by a thief who took advantage of the situation and stole a large sum of money. Suddenly everyone finds themselves under suspicion...
