CHRIS OULD Chris Ould changed his life from ice cream maker to laborer before publishing his first two novels A Kind of Sleep and Road Lines. Subsequently, he spent many years working for television - as a screenwriter he participated in, for example, the series Soldier, Soldier, Casualty, Hornblower and The Bill, for which he received a prestigious award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. He returned to literature in 2012, with a pair of young adult detective novels Knock Down and The Killing Street. However, he became famous for three crime thrillers set in the Faroe Islands (Restless Coast, The Killing Bay, The Fire Pit), in which detective Jan Reyna appears.
