The victory of the Soviet Union in World War II brought horror to the children of East Prussia. They saw Soviet soldiers destroying their homes, saw columns of refugees being crushed by tanks. Having lost or been separated from their parents, they received the name "wolf children". In search of food and salvation, they moved to Lithuania.
