Cheongsong is considered one of the three remote areas of Gyeongbuk along with Bonghwa and Yeongyang. Among them, Jeomgok Village, with only three households, is the remotest of remote areas. Kang Eui-su and Lee Hwa-ja, a couple who still live in a mud house that is over 60 years old, chopping firewood and lighting a fire in the stove. The couple, who have difficulty going to the market and often become isolated when it snows, have their refrigerator filled with food to survive the winter. Their busy mountain village life, where they cut branches in the apple orchard and crack walnuts, is so busy that they don’t even have time to sit down. Hwa-ja’s only pleasure is coffee beans! Coffee, which she roasts and grinds in the stove, is said to be the source of energy in Hwa-ja’s life. However, her husband, Ui-su, is very worried about his wife’s unusual love of coffee, which she drinks too much. Ahead of the Lunar New Year, the couple makes tofu by lighting a fire in the stove thinking of their children, and presses oil from walnuts they have grown in the mill. Even though their life in the mountains is tough, the couple's hearts ache thinking about their children and grandchildren. They bicker and never have a quiet day, but before they know it, their cheerful daily life is filled with love for each other.
