Jakob Eisenreich is a master of key figures and balance sheets. As an auditor, he keeps an eye on company figures - whether it's auditing annual financial statements or accompanying a company takeover. It's a job with very good earnings, but also a lot of responsibility. Keyword: Wirecard accounting scandal - so a lot can go wrong if work is done improperly. The 35-year-old works for Leidel & Partner in Regen in the Bavarian Forest. In addition to auditing, the firm also offers other services such as tax advice and legal advice. Jakob joined the firm as a partner in 2018 (initially as a junior partner). He is therefore paying off a start-up loan to the bank until 2030. What he earns from his work as a tax advisor, he passes on 1:1 to the bank because of the loan. This financial item is therefore not part of our film. We only want to show the salary as an auditor. But of course one thing is also clear: when he has paid off the loan at some point, his earnings will be higher. As always, you can find out more about this in the pinned comment. As an auditor, Jakob has many clients in the region, some of which the firm has been looking after for decades. At the same time, he is always trying to win new clients. One of the core tasks of the job is the business audit of annual financial statements. Because once companies reach a certain size, they are obliged to have their balance sheets examined externally - so that everything is actually correct as stated. The principle behind it: Companies have a responsibility towards other companies, employees, etc. who depend on correctly stated finances. In addition to pure auditing, Jakob and his team also often take care of so-called audit-related consulting. He looks after a company sale or purchase from a financial point of view and gives his clients important advice on whether he would advise against a deal from a financial point of view or whether he would recommend it. As a third task, Jakob also takes on so-called arbitration reports. This means that he is commissioned by an external body as a neutral party to take a closer look at, for example, companies, shares or economic actions of a managing director. His reports can then also form the basis in court, for example in family, civil or inheritance law cases. We accompany Jakob on a typical working day: Among other things, he and his team begin an audit of a typical medium-sized company, an internal meeting on an ongoing project reveals little good news - and Jakob tries to win a new client for the firm. Will it work? --- This is "Is it worth it?": One person, one job, one life. And at the end the question: Is it worth it? We accompany people in their jobs and show their lives. Is it worth it to work for a salary and use it to finance your own life? What makes me happy at work? We don't just compare salaries, we show how people live from their work. We are always looking for protagonists: If you also want to show how you live with your job, feel free to write to [email protected]! On a personal note: We are not infallible either - and although we make every effort to present every individual financial situation in a clear, correct and understandable way, we sometimes need help.
