Sometimes it happens because these rules are not known, and unfortunately the dissemination of information regarding traffic updates is not particularly lively and struggles to reach everyone, but fortunately the web comes to our aid in this: online we can find all the information we need, obviously filtering the best ones. Sometimes the wrong behaviors are instead due to haste or carelessness, or simply we justify ourselves by saying: but so do the others, or everyone does what they want, no one uses the indicators, etc. etc. A small note on right of way: in roundabouts, the biggest vehicle does not go first, the fastest does not go first, the first to arrive does not go first. In almost all roundabouts, before entering we will find the sign to give right of way to the right and left. But since no one can come from our right, in theory, unless we are unlucky enough to find the genius who takes the roundabout the wrong way, and we know that on the road anything is possible, we will have to give way, before entering, to vehicles coming from our left. In this type of roundabout, to turn right we will obviously stay in the right lane, turning on the right indicator, which will serve to warn of our intention to exit at the first crossroads, with a certain amount of advance notice BEFORE arriving at the roundabout. This is to warn vehicles coming from this road, and which should give us priority if we were to go straight, that they can enter, since we will not pass in front of them if we exit at the first crossroads and therefore there will be no need for them to stop unnecessarily to give us priority. Putting on the right turn signal before arriving will certainly help improve traffic safety and also streamline traffic. I recommend using the right lane even if we want to go straight at the roundabout, that is, exit at the second crossroads. In this case, we would enter the roundabout without turning on the indicator, we will stay in the right lane even inside the roundabout, and this is very important; once we arrive in front of the first crossroads, that is, the one preceding our exit, we will turn on the right turn signal, precisely to warn of our intention to exit; vehicles arriving from this road, seeing the turn signal on, will understand that it will not be necessary to stop to give us precedence, and will enter the roundabout without stopping and slowing down traffic unnecessarily. Instead, I recommend using the left lane to turn left, or to exit at the third crossroads of the roundabout, and turning on the left turn signal well in advance before arriving at the roundabout. Once inside, we will stay in the left lane, the inside one, and, arriving in front of the second crossroads, or the one preceding our exit, we will turn on the right turn signal, again to warn of our intention to exit, thus giving the green light to enter to vehicles arriving from this road. It is easy to understand how the first mistake concerns THE POSITION OF VEHICLES IN THE ROUNDABOUT. When entering from the right lane, in the roundabout you must stay in the same lane, but we have seen how in almost all cases, vehicles entering from the right lane end up cutting across the roundabout, invading the left lane. The other mistake concerns the use of the indicators, which are rarely turned on before entering the roundabout when you intend to turn right or left, and the right indicator is practically never used to warn of the exit. It is clear how with very few precautions we could manage to behave correctly in the roundabout. Sometimes all it takes is the will to do so. Let's start first, thus also setting a good example for others. See you soon with the next one, always here on the channel Guidare Oggi con Andrea. To transform driving from stress to pleasure.
