Author and singer of extraordinary profile and strong personality, considered a pioneer of the wild corrido, Chalino Sánchez was born in the town of Guayabo, Sinaloa, on August 30, 1960. From an early age he felt a passionate interest in singing, a hobby in which he took as an example the singer Luis Pérez Meza, who although he was his idol he never tried to imitate. He always listened to his songs. Chalino Sánchez only had access to primary school and never studied music or vocalization. The character of the history of Mexico that he always admired was Francisco Villa, about which he used to comment that he would have liked to have lived in the time of the Mexican Revolution, because he shared the same ideals, which he saw reflected in his personality. This is one of the most exciting angles of Chalino's life, since he would also have liked to have fought against social injustices and defended humble people. Singing with his northern group, he toured Baja California, Sinaloa, and other states of Mexico, as well as Texas, Arizona, and all of Northern California. His musical work includes a total of 18 long-playing records, some with various labels before signing exclusively with Musart/Balboa. Chalino Sánchez died tragically on May 16, 1992 at the age of 31 in Culiacán, Sinaloa. Among his greatest hits are “Nieves de Enero,” “Alma Enamorada,” “El Pitallón,” “El Navegante,” “Una Tarde,” and “El Pávido Návido.” Becoming a legend, extensive reports have been dedicated to him, even in English; less than ten years after his death, he has many imitators. ….Chalino Sánchez has not died. He has remained with us forever in his songs. #chalinosanchez #reydelcorrido
